Hi,
Just moved to BT after a house move , only requires broadband , land line not required , modem received on Friday and engineers visit scheduled for 8/1pm today .
No one turned up or contacted me , rang BT who contacted Open Reach who said no free ports available for me and they don’t know when would become available.
Fibre is available on this road as our neighbours have it and recommended BT .
I wasn’t happy and the agent said he would open a complaint for me .
House alarm system arriving tomorrow to be fitted ( wireless ) , this can’t go ahead now , just had an email from BT saying the complaint is now closed and they were pleased they could help 😂 .
Any suggestions on way forward , there was a phone line and broadband facility at this house 2 yrs ago when a relative lived here .
Thanks
Julian

Use the address checker on the page below, and post the results, but edit out your address details first.

If it shows "waiting list" against the VDSL info, then there are no free ports available, but its possible ADSL may be available meanwhile.
Are you talking about Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) or full fibre (FTTP)?
Just because neighbours have it and the property has it previously doesn't mean it is available currently. If the cabinet is full there will be no spare ports available unless someone ceases their service.
If you enter the address in the checker and post a screenshot, we can see what is available. https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Thanks for quick response , got the results back from the address checker but don’t know how to post a screen shot from my iPad .
It’s a Fibre 1 package , 40/50 mbps , FTTC I believe .
Shows available for my Cabinet FTTC .
