Hiya.
I'm sure I am not the only one in this boat.
We currently have BT 900Mbps FTTP to our premises, but are moving house soon.
My son needs full fat FTTP for work, due to the nature of his job.
A while back there was only Fibre 1 or 2 available at the new house according to BT and Openreach. So FTTC and 67Mbps max.
The word in the village we are moving to is that they had applied for FTTP via the Fibre Community Partnership (FCP) programme.
Indeed I see now this property is listed as "Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband - Available Now", yet BT is still only showing slower FTTC options.
Why is there a difference?

Hiya.
We have been running with BT Full fibre and BT Sports/Discovery for some time, and been happy with it.
My son needs really fast Fibre when he needs to work from home.
However, the end of this month we are moving to a house where Gigaclear have just laid Fibre, but there are no Openreach FTTP plans.
Current owners have a slowish FTTC BT connection.
Gigaclear tell me it's a two stage install - cable to outside of house first, then rest of install. So we would be without broadband for about 10 days.
Mobile reception is shocking, so can't use 4G/5G temporarily.
If we take our current BT fibre router I guess it won't work as it's not ADSL compatible.
If I get another ADSL router and connect it, will BT start a new contract I don't want, just for the sake of 10 days before Gigaclear connect us?
Plus I want to know if I can overlay BT Sports/TNT/Discovery - I assume this would have to be via their app.
Thanks
Your service won’t work at the new address not because your router is not compatible but because you won’t have ordered BT service at the new address ….unless you were thinking of using the current occupants connection, but if they have any sense they will have arranged for that service to be cut off on the day you move in , so the router compatibility is moot .
If your intention is to use an alternative provider and they can’t provide service for 10 days after you move in , then mobile is really the only thing available to you for those days …obviously if you arrange to take your BT service with you intending to only use it for those 10 days , then early termination charges will apply for any contractual obligation you don’t fulfill and if you are inside a minimum term at your current address and don’t move the service to the new address , ETC for not fulfilling the minimum term at your current address will apply , if you are out of contract ( minimum term ) at your existing address then no ETC , just notice to quit , and a requirement to send your router back .
If you want to keep the TV service you will presumably need to cease your existing service that’s associated with your broadband and take out a standalone app based service.
Weird.
Tried to respond to my new thread, (which look like someone (BT??) removed) and my response got added to an old one I opened ages ago..
Is there a way to remove a thread or reply in this forum, as I can't work out how to do this
