BT / Wildanet broadband

Hi there, I live in Cornwall and Wildanet have been knocking on my door, they say we have to sign up with them as BT are shutting down the copper network and won't be installing fibre in our area. In the meantime, BT have emailed me to renew the broadband contract, and the guy on the chat said there was no problem staying with BT.

Any advice out there?

Re: BT / Wildanet broadband

BT will continue to supply broadband over the existing copper network but they are stopping ability to make/receive calls over the copper and you will be moved to digital voice which is VOIP and can be supplied over existing copper network. No reason you cannot renew your existing contract

Re: BT / Wildanet broadband

Personally I wouldn’t be keen to sign up with a company that employ such blatant liars , Copper isn’t being switched off until there is an Openreach alternative , Widanet will have no idea when ( not if ) Openreach ( not BT ) will provide FTTP , the fact that a Wildanet  employee ( or agent ) stated BT and not Openreach shows not only that they lie , that they are also ignorant .

Re: BT / Wildanet broadband

The Salesman is lying.

The saying that BT are switching off/removing the copper lines is a Sales tactic a lot of Alt Nets are using to scare people into signing up with them.
