BT refusing to uncap connection (Not DLM)

Despite having an attainable speed of ~46Mb my connection seems to be artificially capped at exactly 35Mb (Modem shows sync rate of 35000Kbit/sec).

BT support state that DLM has not been applied and that it's the maximum my package can deliver, yet I cannot upgrade.

Are there any options to remove this cap?

Re: BT refusing to uncap connection (Not DLM)

Can you post a screenshot of your hub stats. If your download speed is exactly 35M, it is almost certainly due to DLM banding your connection.

I very much doubt that there is any cap to remove, more likely is that your cabinet is congested.

@DiscoDave1

Take a look at this link, I would expect that DLM has put you into one of those bands.

You will never get the max available speed, as there are things like error correction, and other overheads.

@Les-Gibson it won't be 'cabinet congestion'

What package are you subscribed to?

35Mb is the cap for the lowest speed FTTC Essentials package. If you're on Fibre 1 or higher then it's possible that you're on the wrong profile.

I'm on "Fibre with halo 1" with no upgrade options

Re: BT refusing to uncap connection (Not DLM)

Then your line will not support a higher speed, as you are too far away from the cabinet.

If you post your connection information as requested, then that may give a better idea.

40/10 is the SLT for Essentials, there is no 35 cap
55/10 is Fibre 1
80/20 is Fibre 2

Re: BT refusing to uncap connection (Not DLM)

The line is banded by DLM, simples.

Post the stats which will confirm that.
