Message from BT says my hub is switched off so they can’t ring me on landline (DV) but the phone and hub is functioning perfectly. Connected to internet, can make calls, dial tone, etc.
Anyone shed light?
Try calling your landline from a mobile , does it ‘ring’ , if not dial 17070 and check the appropriate number is announced, if the correct number is announced reset the hub and try calling yourself again.
If it does ‘ring’ when you call yourself initially , the chances are no attempt has been made to contact you , I’d be amazed if they systematically look at your router status , (incorrectly) determine it’s switched off so don’t bother to call and send a text instead , if on the other hand they try and fail to get through ( or don’t try but say they did ) stating the hub must be switched off is a convenient reason for being unable to call you, it’s also odd they text you but don’t call you if they have your mobile number .
Why are they calling you , do you know ?, and obviously you are at liberty to call BT back .
They called me on the landline. I answered but the line went dead. They called my on my mobile but it was on charge so they left a voicemail saying the hub was switched off and so DV was not working. I was on the net at the time so I know the hub was working. I called myself on the landline with my mobile after a while and it connected no problem. The voicemail said they would call me again on my mobile this afternoon but of course, they haven’t.
They called. 🙂Engineer coming out Monday.
