Changing Broadband Package

I have Halo 3 900 at present which I no longer need the Halo 'wrap around'.  I opted to move to BT basic broadband 500.  There was an offer against my account of £35.99 per month.  I opted for this and it appeared in my basket as such.  When I proceeded to confirm the order the price had miraculously changed to £74.12 p/m.  I have rung a few BT numbers but nobody can explain why this has changed from the basket to the final order.  Anybody know or had a similar experience?

Re: Changing Broadband Package

is your contract due for renewal or are you mid contract.  you can try phoning retentions 08007831401 and see if they can help you.  I would add that dropping the add on Halo 3 is not easy and you to be insistent and persistent before you will get BT to agree to drop Halo of your packjage

Re: Changing Broadband Package

I am out of contract about 3-4 months.  The offers on my BT account are for the basic service and when I chose the Basic 500 it comes up in my basket as advertised at £35.99 but when I go to confirm the order it has changed to a £74.12 p/m charge with no explanation

Re: Changing Broadband Package

Because you are on a Halo package you will find it difficult to "downgrade" from that.

Phone Retentions as @imjolly suggested but before doing so check what other Internet providers can offer you and use those prices to get a better deal from BT.

If they will not offer a better deal be prepared to just move to the other provider.
