Dangling cable

Go to solution

A few weeks ago, the fibre cable came deteched from one of its fittings and is now touching the top of a tree in the garden of one of our neighbours. I reported this to BT on 27 February and they sent this reply:

Hello,

I have reported a damage/fault on your behalf, one of our engineer will be there in the next 48 hours to make the area safe. Reference number for the damage raised -AF-TPD-2661346964.

Thanks,
BT

Nothing happened so I went on their help chatline but they just kept asking me more and more questions and after half an hour I had to leave for a meeting. How can I get this fixed?

I'm going to be in meetings all next week. Is there a way to report it via email?

Re: Dangling cable

This is a BT customer to customer forum and has nothing to do with Openreach so I am unable to say if Openreach can be contacted by email regarding your problem but I suspect that as no email address is given on their web site the answer is no, you will need to call them on the number supplied in the link I posted or use the chat function at the right hand side at foot of the web page.
