Digital Voice upgrade has halved my available internet speeds

Up until today my broadband package was 150mbps download speeds which I consistently received. However today BT confirmed they completed my upgrade to digital voice and in a letter confirmed as a result my new maximum speed is 67 Mbps and that there is no change to my contract terms and I'll still be paying the same monthly amount I was paying for my old speeds.

Two questions: Anyone know why the 'upgrade' has resulted in a worse connection and if anyone else is in the same situation?

Re: Digital Voice upgrade has halved my available internet speeds

It sounds as though you were on a system known as G.Fast.  G.Fast can't support digital voice, so changing to digital voice results in the G.Fast downgrading to normal FTTC  (Fibre to the Cabinet).

Lots of posts on here about it recently.  Do a search for G.Fast.
