Downstream lower than Guaranteed minimum

Go to solution

Evening,

Wondering if anyone could assist or has had a similar issue, I've noticed my Downstream has dropped below the minimum guaranteed (45mb), it should range between 52-72mb according to BT website but my Downstream is stuck at 34.999Mbps

I first noticed download speeds had dropped quite abit last week and thought it may have been due to others using the internet whilst I was using it but I've logged onto the router this evening and seen its at 34.999mb.

Will this reset at some point or do I need to contact BT to try and resolve it. I was on plusnet previously and never had this issue..

Many thanks

George

DLM has banded your speed at 35M due to instability, have you been restarting or disconnecting the hub?  In theory, your speed should improve if your line remains stable, but if it is due to a fault, you need to report it to BT.

If you still have an analogue landline, try a quiet line test 17070 which should be completely silent, any crackling indicates a line fault.

Hi

Thanks for reply. No I haven’t messed with it only checked & restarted yesterday as I noticed a drop in bandwidth. I’ll keep an eye and see if it improves this week.

thanks.
