My site has been blocked for some reason.
usabetting.bet
I get this message: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
I've been on BT Support chat 3 times and have got nowhere.
First chat: blamed my parental Control settings: It can't be that as I have set up 'Current filter: Custom' blocking Porn, Drugs, Hate etc but allowing Gambling. Told me to turn off BT Web Protect which I have.
Second chat: Suggested I use a VPN, which I tried and I still get the same error message.
Third chat: reset something on the BT side, flushed DNS or something, still have same problem.
It's v.strange as sometimes I can see the site but then refresh and I get the message. I used to be able to see the site , but not anymore.
I have spoken to GoDaddy (Hosting) at length and they are addament it is my ISP.
Please help this is driving me nuts.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It works fine for me on BT broadband (see below), connection timed out is usually that, it took too long to reach the website and/or get a response.
The site is hosted in Arizona, if you're in the UK the delay could come from the transit/peering providers, which is something your host has control over, have a read of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peering and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_transit
It is not the server or site speed.
i.e. it's not GoDaddy, this is what the support chat person said also.
It's BT.

96/100 page speed.

Catogory B but no major issues and fast.
Also, the site works very fast on all other ISPs but BT.
Via my O2 mobile data it is instant.
Hi @jamierush sorry the website appears to be blocked.
I've reported this to our categorisation team earlier but have found the information on this now. You may be able to provide more information to help them? Check out A site is being blocked incorrectly by BT Parental Controls. How can I report this? It's the third one down on the list under 'Blocking Problems' and you can email them directly.
Cheers
John
Just tried three browsers, Firefox, Edge & Brave & refreshed 10 times on each with no issues.
Run a ping & tracert from command prompt a few times & report the results to the hosting company.
ping usabetting.bet -t
tracert usabetting.bet
The ping command will ping the site continuously until you stop it with ctrl+c. It should respond to every ping at around 20ms. Tracert will record every step of the journey between your router & the web site & highlight any issues.
Wow whatever they did fixed it. Again, thank you.
BT did nothing as it wasn't their problem I was getting the same issue on a VM connection with or without using my VPN. Now it's OK.
GoDaddy are the worst for hosting, and I speak from experience over many years for sorting out the problems they caused for end users.
