Equipment returns

Go to solution

Hello, The 'My BT' website is stating that the equipment I need to return is the Smart Hub 2. According to a Google search, that term actually includes cables and anything else you have including the Ethernet cable. Can anyone confirm this? I have other stuff that I intend to return, such as the hybrid connect device and the digital phone voice adapter - but cables? Power supplies?

Thanks in advance.

@seoras

Every piece of BT equipment I’ve ever returned has always included everything that was supplied in the box with the router, so that includes the router power supply and any patch leads that came in the box.

You come across as reading as though this might be a problem for you? Just return what BT sent you and then you know you won’t be hounded for stuff you might not have returned.

Don’t forget to keep hold of your return tracking slip and take a photo of it just in case you lose it.

Don't bother about any ethernet patch leads but power supplies should be returned as your hub will be recycled and used as a replacement for any failed customer equipment so the power supply will be needed.

The hybrid connect and DV adapter should also be returned.

Thanks - I just can't remember if I'm using the Ethernet cable they sent me. They really should be specific about what has to be returned. Just stating 'Smart Hub 2' when they want more than that returned is going to lead to problems and ill-will.

And I have no box - it was years ago. I believe it was 2020 when I had some kind of partial upgrade pushed to me that required the Smart Hub 2. Something about fibre to the cabinet maybe?

This is exactly what they say I need to return:
Smart Hub 2 +091299+xxxxxxxxxx Awaiting return

They should be specific, in my view.

If all they are asking for is the Smarthub 2 that is all you need to send back. They are not interested in anything else including the power brick. They can not reuse it without it being thoroughly checked over and certified as safe and it is more bother than it is worth to do that.

If you call BT 0330.1234.150 you can request that they send a returns bag out to you.

Make sure you keep a copy of your Proof of Posting and if possible take a photograph of it in case you somehow lose the paper copy..
