Good evening
My ethernet connection drops randomly at times, before posting i have already checked forums and people have had success by buying a TP-Link Router which i have the LS1005G router as suggestged in multiple posts and im still having issues where the connection drops randomly on my pc but the wifi is fine normally and sometimes it is the Wifi dropping for a few seconds
I will post some logs from my router below
Kind Regards
Richard
When you say “ethernet” disconnects do you actually mean ethernet, (i.e. a wired connection between the router and the PC)? Or do you mean wireless (Wi-Fi)?
At a glance, the log is just routine entries. Nothing jumps out as unusual. Is there something in that, rather lengthy, extract that particularly concerns you?
If it is an ethernet connection, try a different cable. Surprisingly enough, cables do develop faults.
If it’s Wi-Fi dropping out, it suggests an interference issue, so try a different channel. 36 is usually particularly crowded so try 40, 44 or 48.
It may be that the signal may not be quite strong enough to reach that far. In which case you may need to reposition the router. Putting it up higher often helps, as helps it clear objects.
Edit: Taking a better look at your log, there are a few reconnects on 2.4GHz there, so I take it is a wireless issue not an ethernet one. You could try a different channel there too. Stick to 1, 6 or 11. The ones between those break CSMA/CA and tend to cause more problems than they solve. At mid 70's, the RSSI signal strength there is borderline as well. You really need 60's, so it may be a repositioning of the router problem, as I said before.
