Exchange updated but no news on full fibre

Go to solution

Hi,

I know my local exchange is full fibre ready but still there no news on when my building will receive service.

I spoke to EE and they say no date is shown for my address.

Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

Thanks

No, sadly there isn’t anything you can do to speed things up
Just because an Exchange area has been upgraded to Full Fibre is no guarantee that every property in the area will be able to order, especially in Multi Dwelling Units
Keep an eye on local works and check the Better Internet Dashboard website, you can find it by doing a Google search.

OK. It’ll need to go through Enablement then.

Openreach MDU only build Reactive Jobs consisting of 5-15 THP without Enablement contacting the MA.

As yours is 20 flats it’ll be classed as Proactive.

There are two types of MDU Build.

Reactive, which are 5-15 THP. These don’t need Planning. They just build it as and when a Sub Orders it.

Proactive is 15+ THP and needs to be agreed with the MA via an Enablement Team. They’ll sort out Wayleaves, Surveys, Asbestos Reports, etc.

As there’s 20 flats in your Block it’ll be classed as Proactive so you’ll have to wait for Enablement to contact your MA.
