why is it BT can’t fix a slow upload speed as I currently have an download of 14.6 but only an upload of 0.23 it’s almost like surfing with a modem
it was ok with 1.5 upload but that was so long ago it has been gradually reducing to the point where it takes an age to open a webpage
I have had multiple BT and Ali, engineers out but they simply say that they don’t guarantee and upload speed which is ridiculous
I rang to complain about this Ann suggested I take out a new contract, so we could fix the problem
No chance I am not getting stuck in a contract when I can even use the service
they even sent me out a mini hub but that not a lot better as it works when it wants to
I think BT needs to get the act together as it’s an absolute joke,
had to use speed test as the BT app fails to test my speed lol
I am pretty much at my wits end with BT
Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.
What broadband package do you have, as those figures could relate to either normal ADSL broadband, or "fibre" (VDSL) broadband?
Use the address checker on the page below, and post the results, but edit out your address details first.
I have fiber halo 2 fiber to the cabinet
it used to be ok as I line out in the sticks
I used to get 17.5 down with a guaranteed 14 down then that got reduced to 7 without me binging informed it was an engineer they told me and suggested it was down to more homes using the network so don’t really know what’s the point of having a guaranteed speed if BT change it at will
when I rang BT and complained about it they suggested I take out a new contract so that they can fix my speed I suggested they fix the speed and then I will look at taking out a contract I wish
Please provide the information I requested, as the figures may have changed since you first started the contract, as more customers are connected to the cabinet.
That would state the expected range, and the handback speed.
I did it’s fiber to the cabinet (halo 2)
That is not any good. The information from this page is needed, otherwise forum members will not be able to help. Remember, this is just a customer to customer help forum.

Just edit out your address, but leave all the other detail showing, including the notes at the bottom of the page.
That is part of the information. There should be more options showing.
Below those there should be something that shows the last test date, and what download speed was measured.
In the notes is there anything saying its a FTTP priority exchange?
This page also shows more information about your cabinet.

Renewing your contract would not help, and if you do use your phone, you would have to move to BT Digital Voice, which would may not work reliably.
The information provided, would apply to all providers that use the Openreach network.
If you could please post the connection stats from your BT Home Hub, that would provide extra information.
If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager. Click ‘Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’
