Full Fibre Availability

Go to solution

Hi

I`m in a situation where, waiting on Full Fibre, i discover all other postcodes around me (literally over the street) have Full Fibre but i`m being told they haven`t installed yet,

Openreach map shows my area has all the necessary exchange work carried out, so i don`t understand why i`m missing out on Full Fibre when my neighbours are enjoying theirs?

Any contact numbers/links i could use to push this along would be appreciated.

Jamie

try  Superfast Fibre Broadband | Openreach

you cannot get openreach to install in your street - openreach decide areas that they will install FTTP

does your phone line come underground or from poles?

Re: Full Fibre Availability

If only it was a matter of just fitting a box to a pole, but it isn't.

Frustrating as it is the network has to be built and like it or not the easiest builds tend to be done first for obvious reasons unless there is seperate funding available.

Openreach are pushing out FTTP as quickly as possible but there always will be areas which will take longer for technical or economic issues. It happened with FTTC as well.

In the same boat. Fibre up a pole opposite us, connectorised block with availability and no fibre available on openreach checker. Down the road is a primary school also not available, nearby 14 flats not available, even one half of a semi not available whilst it's attached neighbour has it installed and working.

Is this because the database is wrong or because someone hasn't finished the job?

Any advice would be welcome.

Most likely your house is served by a PON yet to be Surveyed, Built and Commissioned.

It’s not uncommon for 2 separate PON’s to cover opposite sides of a street.
