Hi,
I had ordered FF in August, and was informed everything was in place and good to so. I transfered my landline to Sipgate and that was fine. As expected my VDSL service ceased, and on the same day BT arrived to connect FF. The nice digger men laid a conduit along my garden to the back door, and in the process cut through the Virgin Cable that's also at my property ........
However, it turns out there is no ducting from the house 2 doors up, so no FF, no VDSL, cut VM cable, garden dug up and a nice Toby at the fence.
BT sent a 4G mini hub as I am a Halo customer and I have sort of internet.
Roll on to October and I was informed the work cannot be completed before end of Jan 2023. I agree to live with that and carry on with the 4G.
Now today I get and email saying I will have to pay just over £6K if I want FF as the ducting work is "excessive". How is this possible to get this so wrong, and why is less than 50 meters over £6K! I will point out my phone line is the old buried armoured cable, as are all the properties in this area.
Is it pointless to argue these costs, or am I wasting my time.? Will I be able to even get my VDSL re-instated as I no longer have a BT landline number.?
To say I'm fuming at this incompetence is an understatement
