I ordered full fibre over a month ago.
I live in a cul-de-sac where there are telephone poles and ducting. The road is a mix of houses and bungalows. Some houses are connected via the pole and some bungalows are connected via ducting. I am in a bungalow. My old copper connection comes from a pole down the road. BT moved it and connected it to the side of my adjoining neighbours house years ago because being connected to the front of my house it was too low over my neighbour's drive. My neighbour has covered the cable with fascia boards now and has said he doesn't want Openreach on his property.
I have ordered full fibre due to EE only giving best prices on this rather than staying on copper system.
I explained to EE at time of ordering that I wanted the installation ducted due to inaccessibility of the old copper wires to my house via my adjoining neighbour and I don't want them drilling into my rendering causing it to come away if frost gets into it. We have ducting in the road so they can use that.
EE advised me to let the engineer do their visit and tell them I want it ducted, if they refuse ask for a survey.
1st engineer (McQuinn)-said he would order a survey but didn't.
2nd engineer (McQuinn)-said he would order a survey but didn't.
I tried to get in touch with the engineer via McQuinn before the 2nd visit to find out if his visit was to install via ducting and save him a wasted visit, but my message was never passed on to him.
After numerous phone calls to EE and after being told lots of different and conflicting stories and excuses by both EE and McQuinn's engineers, I am now being told by EE that I have to have a 3rd engineer visit and I HAVE TO MAKE him request a survey, because apparently Openreach can't do a survey unless an engineer requests one. EE also said that they can't request a survey, which is contrary to what Ofcom told me.
I'm at the end of my tether now. My neighbours have ducted copper wires, the BT underground cable box is right outside my house, on a level with my house, no obstructions. I watched Openreach lay the full fibre cables outside my house underground last year and they marked on the pavement the position of the ducting to the BT customers houses with white spray paint, including mine.
Am I being lied to? I'm going around in circles with Openreach and EE. I feel I will have no option but to install cable instead.
Why are you posting on the BT Forum and not posting and asking your questions on the EE Forum?
BT told me they are the same company
That may as well be, but the people on the EE forum will be more familiar with EE procedures and so better able to advise you.
Volkswagen own Skoda, but you wouldn't go to a Volkswagen dealership if you had a problem with a Skoda.
From what I can make Sandra is that Openreach has put Toby Boxes and or Duct Marker Points outside each and or some of the houses on your street.
If that’s the case your SNN should’ve been listed as a Partial Direct in Ground 2 Stage Install.

And if that is the case you will need to deal with your chosen ISP, in this case EE not BT, who will be able to speak to Openreach on your behalf because Openreach do not deal directly with the public.
