Halo 3

Decided to upgrade from Halo 1 to Halo 3. Customer support said they would send a new 'free' hub (which actually cost £9.99). My current BT hub connects to an Openreach vdsl modem but the new hub has a different RJ45 WAN facing port and is obviously not meant to to connect to the Openreach vsdl modem. Customer support failed to mention this difference. So the new hub is back in the box and I'm £9.99 out of pocket. So if you have a vsdl modem guys don't bother with Halo 3 as the new hub won't fit!  Tried to contact BT but gave up as life is too short and you'd only end up talking to a non-tech savvy person anyway.

@Boppa

You do not need the modem anymore. The new home hub connects directly to the phone line using the grey RJ11 cable that came with the home hub.

As shown here.

If there is no grey RJ11 cable with the home hub, then use the one that is connected to the modem, by unplugging the cable from the modem end (press clip to release, then pull gently).

Re: Halo 3

The new hub will fit.

Just unplug the lead in the modem that goes to the master socket and plug it in the DSL socket of the new hub instead. You no longer need the modem.
