How to get a service on a metal clad house!

The front of my property is clad in courten steel which has already scared of one open reach FTTP installer! basically there is no guttering barge board for them to attach their wire to.

Unless I get a Wayleave agreement with the landlord of the property next door and fix the cable from the telegraph pole to his house I don’t see how I’m going to be able to get a service at this point in time having just moved in. They won’t reinstate the copper service that the previous residence used 😞

any ideas on how I could proceed? I’m wondering whether I could prepare my own hook on the front of the metal panels for the install engineer to thread the cable onto are they likely to accept this?

to make matters worse the side wall where they would need to drill and pass the fibre cable through is rendered poly star in which I’ve heard could be a problem for them? but maybe it’s ok if they can work at ground level? (no ladders)

Re: How to get a service on a metal clad house!

How is (or was ) the current or previous service provided ?, if the tech that turned up was expecting to provide overhead services from a pole that would normally be the existing method the previous copper pair service had ,so  unless something out of the ordinary happened, like the overhead service was disconnected during renovation/remodelling and the developer made no provision for the next service whilst simultaneously removing the previous method .

If there is currently an attachment with a copper wire (even if a copper service can no longer be ordered and that wire was not recently in service ) why is that attachment unavailable for a fibre cable to use ( that’s the usual method of providing FTTP in overhead areas ) .
An example of an alternative solution, if there  is no possible way to attach a wire conventionally, in an overhead area ,  is a new pole stood in the garden of the property, and a duct from that pole to the house wall , but if it’s metal  clad even that may not work unless you also attached a wooden panel for the CSP to attach to , and provide an ingress hole through the metal facade, as well as agreeing to a pole in your garden etc , but tags not the only option, a new pole is cheapest , other solutions would be more expensive and you would pay the difference in the cost , you may even be expected to contribute to the cheapest solution

Openreach can and do fit Bracket 22’s to Metal Clad Buildings using a Rivet Gun. This can only be done using a Hoist, aka Cherry Picker though so can one get to the building OK?

Ref to drilling through Rendered Polystyrene Cladding. It can safely be drilled through but ideally using a Drill Bit specifically for Plastics.

Openreach only Supply their Engineers with SDS Masonry and Wooden Drill Bits. A Wooden one may work. I’ve used it before when drilling through static caravans.
