Https filtering

Go to solution

Since yesterday I keep getting this error why I try to launch the program.  Connection blocked by router security or firewall. winhttpsendrequest failed.  I have followed these steps-

To disable web filtering and security blocks on British Telecommunications (BT), you need to turn off two main features in your account: BT Parental Controls and BT Web Threat Protect (formerly BT Web Protect).1. Disable BT Parental Controls (Content Filtering)Log in to your My BT account using your BT ID. Navigate to Manage your extras (or go to Your products > Broadband).Locate BT Parental Controls and select Manage. Switch the toggle to Off / Delete BT Parental Controls (or adjust the filter level to allow specific categories/sites). Save your changes.2. Disable BT Web Threat Protect (Malicious Site Blocking)BT Web Threat Protect blocks suspicious or flagged websites at the network level. Log in to My BT. Scroll to Security (or Manage my extras). Find the Web Threat Protect panel. Select Turn off.

But still it will not work, how do I rectify this it works on a VPN but I do not want to pay for a VPN for something that has been working fine for years.

Thanks in advance.

HI @Jam3son.

Thanks for taking the time to flag this.

Just to check, what program are you trying to use, and are you seeing the error on all devices or only on one specific device?

It is a game addon, and I only use it on one device.

Re: Https filtering

Thanks for coming back to us, @Jam3son.

Is the add-on still working when connected to a different network, such as mobile data or another Wi-Fi connection?

It may also be worth checking that the add-on is fully up to date and restarting the device.

As it appears to be affecting a specific add-on on a single device, if the issue continues, I’d recommend getting in touch with our technical support team so they can investigate this further.
