I've just received the Hybrid Connect box today after having initiated an order to upgrade to Full Fibre (installed in 2 weeks). On the BT app it was inviting me to set up the EE box on my current BT Halo connection. I went through the whole routine and it seemed to have worked by every 2-3 minutes it disconnects from the hub and refuses to re-connect saying it cannot find it despite it being plugged into the ethernet ports. Its just flashing Red at me until I switch it off and on again - in which case then it connects again for 2-3 minutes and then disconnects. Have I been sold an utterly useless piece of junk? It appears to be a common complaint - Has anyone ever fixed this?
The phone app keeps insisting the wifi signal is poor despite being 10cm from the router. That is utter rubbish as the router stretches a long way; actually covers the entire property without repeaters.
Solved! Go to Solution.
the Halo 3 hybrid will only connect when the hub has no internet connection. it is a fall back to maintain internet connection and not connected and providing internet when hub working
if you have FTTP then unlike FTTC the connection is very stable and the need for Halo3 is unlikely
Yes, its needed because its a semi-smart house with lots of voice activation for devices controlled by Alexa which requires an active internet connection. That doesn't matter for me but it does for my mum who had a stroke who is confined to a chair 😕
Hi @honestjohn
Have you spoken with our Technical Support team since setting up the router? They'll be able to check everything from our side and help you get everything set up.
Chris
No I cancelled my order and returned the piece of equipment for an unrelated reason.
Thanks for the update here @honestjohn.
Please keep us posted on how things go!
