I have BT installed fibre in my property no consent given

It has come to my attention BT engineer has installed Fibre by drilling into my property without any notice.

I believe the tenants have lied about the matter, I need evidence from BT regarding the Account and installation at my property.

Re: I have BT installed fibre in my property no consent given

Fibre is installed on behalf of many of the Internet Providers by Openreach however there are also other companies installing Fibre.

Are you sure that your tenant has Fibre from BT and not one of the many other providers?

Which ever company installed the fibre they would have sought permission from the person wanting to have the fibre installed and they or their representative would have been present when the installation was carried out.

I doubt that BT or any of the other providers would discuss another person's account with you without the permission of the account holder.

If you did not give permission to the tenant to have Fibre installed on your property that would appear to be an issue between you and your tenant.

As an aside I would suggest that having Fibre installed in a rental property would be an asset to the property.

They won’t provide you with another Customers account Information as that would go against Data Protection Laws.

Openreach install for many Internet Providers not just BT and as I stated previously I doubt that they will supply any information to you.

You will need to take it up with the tenant who got the Fibre installed.

Re: I have BT installed fibre in my property no consent given

For clarity , are you saying you rent a property out , and the tenant has had FTTP installed without your expresss permission, if that’s the case , your issue is with your tenant, Openreach ( via the ISP )  state quite clearly that it’s the tenant ( if the property is rented ) that is required to obtain any necessary permission, the installer doesn’t know ( or care ) if a property is owner occupied or rented.

Openreach and BT ( if the tenant chose BT , but it would be the same with any ISP ) don’t owe you any explanation or documentation, the agreement between the ISP and the user is effectively none of your business , if for whatever reason you feel your tenant have acted against the terms of the rental agreement, you need to take it up with them , but you seem to be overreacting somewhat.
