Need help with ORDI Openreach data integrity I think?

Hello there,

So I live in a converted house, 25a South Street. 25a South Street can get full FTTP as shown in the BT Wholesaler checker, I have also ordered FTTP from BT to this address.

My issue is, is that my address is actually First Floor Flat, 25a South Street. Upon using the Wholesaler checker from Openreach I do not actually get FTTP to my flat even though 25a can get it, but 25a is the house we're in, the flat downstairs also cannot get it Ground Floor Flat, both of us can only get ADSL but 25a can get FTTP. Makes no sense as this is our building.

I got told to post on here and contact the BT Mod assistance team to raise a check for ORDI Openreach data integrity.

I do have an appointment booked for an engineer to come out on the 29th April.

Not really sure how to word a lot of this, but thank you. If I need to provide any details or information please ask.

Many thanks.

How is your address shown in the royal mail database?

If you already have an openreach engineer booked for 29/4 then really need to wait until after visit

So you live in a house that’s 25a and it’s split into two flats, 25a and 25a.

I’d hazard a guess that’s your problem. It’ll just see 25a as one address, not 2 or 3 separate ones.

Okie dokie, I'll wait till after the engineer pops out and try get it sorted depending on what they say/do.

Yeah so 25a must have been what the address was before it was converted into the 2 flats, I don't think it "technically" exists anymore.

25a is now First Floor Flat 25a South Street and Ground Floor Flat 25a South Street, but the house/flat IS 25a South Street.

Been a nightmare trying to get internet here forever as only ADSL of upto 11Mbps shows for the 2 addresses but 25a can get Full FTTP.

What does the Royal Mail database show for the address?

Re: Need help with ORDI Openreach data integrity I think?

So Openreach shows 3 25a addresses, 25a South Street, First Floor Flat 25a South Street, Ground Floor Flat 25a South Street.

Royal Mail only shows 2, the First Floor Flat 25a South Street and Ground Floor Flat 25a South Street, this is the correct one. 25a in theory shouldn't have an "address" as it's the whole house. Once it got converted into the two flats the two addresses above are what it became.

Re: Need help with ORDI Openreach data integrity I think?

Hopefully the Mods will offer to submit an ORDI to get the Openreach records to match the Royal Mail records, as you state 25a isn’t really an entity anymore as its now 2 separate dwellings, 25a First floor , and 25a Ground floor.

As stated it may be wise to allow your order to complete using 25a , then getting the address corrected via ORDI ,  rather than attempting to change  it in advance, incase it causes the existing order to fail and you have to start again with a new order once 25a First Floor is showing on Openreach.

@Hullaboo

If you are getting a visit from Openreach, then your BT order must have been accepted, as Openreach would not visit otherwise.

What date has BT given you for service activation?

Re: Need help with ORDI Openreach data integrity I think?

The OP has also raised this addressing issue on another non ISP specific forum, and there are more details of this current attempt using BT to get service and a previous attempt , the current BT order is raised against the ‘main’ 25a address , ( not  25a First floor flat ) in fact a previous order ( not with BT ) got as far as getting a CSP fitted on the building , presumably that ISP also used 25a ,(  25a shows on the DSL checker as a 2 stage install )   that order was  cancelled after the first stage visit  ( hence the CSP )   but the ONT was never provided because the second stage visit never took place , the first stage installer even advised someone else would be along to complete the install , so at that point nothing seemed untoward, but the cancellation then happened.

Presumably the first order failed because  the address mismatch was  noticed sometime between the first and second stage dates , but was the cancellation raised by OR or by the ISP ?  , that isn’t known , just that the second stage never happened.

…It’s likely any  installer won’t be bothered by the address on the ‘job sheet’ showing 25a and being asked by the ‘householder’  to install service into the upper part of the building , so the BT order will no doubt proceed ( it obviously has to point ) but the order from  the previous ISP order also progressed to a point , but that ultimately failed , that’s the concern , this  BT order may hit the same addressing  obstacle .

@iniltous

The mods would not be able to raise an ORDI if another provider is involved. I can see this getting very complicated, and I do not think a moderator can help here, especially the time that they would need to be spend on it.
