New customer extended waits for fibre installs

Hi all,

I have always used BT for my internet at any of the properties I have lived at. This time around, it's taking Openreach much longer than usual to setup my property with any kind of broadband. The flat I've moved into has a copper line, but obviously, copper will be a thing of the past by 2025 so this isn't much good for anything.

I ordered this well over a month ago and currently do not have any broadband at home, I am waiting for Openreach to perform some dig work which they need permission to perform. No real ETA's given, BT's tracking team just delay by 4/5 days every time you call for updates. (I appreciate Openreach is a 3rd party and not part of BT).

Is anybody else currently in the same boat? How long did the dig works take from your experience?

That does sound infuriating.

Might be worth signing up to Roadworks.org so you can keep an eye on upcoming Openreach works in your area.
