 [mod edit: image removed as has serial number showing - please edit this before posting the image again if needed]

Could anyone know is it fully fibre or (copper & fibre)?  Which provider can have plans for budget friendly and high speed data .. we just bought this property. (Post Code AB25 2**)

[Mod edit: Amended postcode. Please don't post identifying information on the forum. Thanks]

Re: Nokia modem with serial number...

As this is a forum for BT customers, I think you will have to Google other providers for the "Budget friendly" ones etc.  BT can be budget friendly but you have to watch them with the price increases.

In terms of what is available at the premises, try putting your phone number, (or address), in here:

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

If it says at the bottom that there is an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) already present then it will be full fibre via the Openreach network.  Any provider that uses the Openreach network will be able to provide full fibre.

I suspected it would be.

@lskishor Only the moderators and the community leaders can see your picture until it's released from quarantine.  I still can't see it.

Being naughty though, I did use the post code and full fibre is available in your street but not all the premises have it installed.  If you have a working ONT you should be ready to go.

@lskishor

Blank out the serial number on the ONT picture. It is used to authenticate the connection.

Are you seriously claiming that Openreach only use an ONT's serial number as the authentication mechanism?

What is the source for your claim?

Re: Nokia modem with serial number...

I guess you don't understand how GPON works.

Every ONT connected to the PON receives all 30 services, the serial number of the ONT ensures only the correct service for that ONT is delivered to the router.

@Pedigree500

I did not say "only".

To save spoon feeding try searching the Internet such as. " How BT/Openreach GPON Authentication Works".
