Thanks, so what would that translucent painted over cable be? Looks like fibre but was left exposed and unprotected.

I have a am a BT customer and in this property I have sky. This was installed by Open reach who i guess are connected to BT some how.

Openreach although part of BT GROUP have nothing to do with BT RETAIL so as a SKY customer you need to post on the SKY community forum

That NTE is old as, Openreach, a BT Group Business ceased in 2017 and it became a Ltd Company. 

I’ve got a feeling that NTE was already in situ before the Engineer arrived.

That or said Engineer just happened to find a box of old NTE’s somewhere in an ATE or TEC somewhere. Although I can’t see why he’d install it when he could get a newer branded one from Stores just as easily.
