I have fibre to an out building on my farm, it is a long way from the pole at 230 M, I now want to move it an additional 20m into my house and the person who is going to use the out building will want to have their own BT service.
a) Can Openreach splice and extend the existing fibre 20m to my home, or will they rerun the 230+20M fibre (it is all ducted its easily done)
b) Does Openreach have any way using the existing single fibre to provide 2 distinct services ?
Thanks

as this is a farm connection is a business account and not residential? if business you need to post here https://business.forums.bt.com/
If there is a need for two separate services at two different (albeit close by ) locations they will use two discrete ‘lines’ from the pole with the CBT (fibre distribution point ) one to each location .
Rather than extending the existing fibre an extra 20m the obvious thing to do is leave that existing ‘line’ as it is and arrange for the new user to take over that service ( you cease service , they order service themselves and become the customer on that ‘line’ ) and you arrange a brand new service at the location 20 metres away .
Generally, the network is designed around 1 ‘connection’ per dwelling, so there could be a network capacity issue if both addresses are not recorded correctly , is the outbuilding a registered address in its own right , you can check what Openreach have by entering both the addresses here , if both are not shown separately , getting a second service may be tricky

As far as your questions
a/ …Yes they can extend a fibre , but they won’t .
b/ Yes they do have a way to use a single fibre for more that one service but it’s not FTTP portfolio product , you can’t order two services on the single existing fibre .
No, its not a Business, it's just a large plot with a home, annex and loads of grass LOL.
Just looking to see if anyone has come across this themselves so I know what to expect.
Thanks
sorry just I associate a farm with a business connection
Thank you for your prompt and detailed reply. I now know what to expect.
Both locations are registered using the link so that is good news.
Thanks initous
