nowhere to type in my address on this form.
There is if you click on 'Address Checker' at the top of the form.
ok. Thanks for the pointer. These are screenshots of the information received
That indicates FTTP is available with no issues, so no idea why Openreach keep cancelling.
Could it be to do with current workload and not taking on new work.
Orkney has recently had a lot of work done in rural areas where new connections would be required that require extensive work to connect.
Possibly, any replies on here will be pure conjecture as this is just a customer to customer self help forum.
Only BT can tell you what the problem is.
Any way of contacting openreach directly? BT have no idea why it's being cancelled.
No, but BT should be quizzing Openreach to find out, you need to be insistent with them.
Not sure how much more insisting I can be. I've ordered it 6 times. Each time I'm told they don't know why. Each time they do a credit check bothers me more. 6 times in as many weeks does not look good.
You say your property is 100 yards from the road and there is another property between your property and the road ….the checker information shows single stage installation process and overhead ….100 yards is over span length ( but obviously this is only a guesstimate on your part ) but if the span were over length you would expect to see Openreach , they couldn’t complete but would be on site , I take it you haven’t seen Openreach ?
The telegraph pole that would serve your address presumably is on the roadside , is there a direct line of sight from the pole top to your address , is that span no more than 75meters ( if it crosses over a road ) or 85metres if it doesn’t need to cross a road , and is your address two stories or more high ( so no danger of the wire hanging too low ) and the other property between yours and the road wouldn’t interfere with the ‘flight’ of the wire ?
If the address you have posted the return for is yours ( rather than the property in between yours and the road ) and there is no problem with the span length , height and there is a direct line of sight to the pole top from your property it is odd that your orders are being cancelled , if that’s the case all you can really do is ask the ISP (BT presumably ) to ask Openreach for the reason , that’s if it is Openreach that is cancelling the order and not BT
Hi.
Both properties are owned by my wife's family.
My wife's mother lives in the one closer to the road and we are renovating the one next door that is further from the road.
The distance is an estimate.
There is a telegraph pole between the two properties that feeds them both.
Nothing is blocking either routes.
We own the land around it so burying the cable is not an issue if required.
