I'm on BT Full Fibre. I've had recurring latency spikes for approximately one - two months. The BT Smart Hub has already been replaced and the fault persists. This is an intermittent latency/jitter problem rather than a loss-of-sync problem. I need the fault escalated for investigation of the FTTP access/aggregation network, including congestion, packet loss and routing during the affected periods. Please don't close the fault based solely on a point-in-time line test because the problem is intermittent. the internet keeps dropping out almost completely.
Lucas, this is a customer to customer support group, so all we can do here is advise. It would be useful to know what type and speed of broadband you have, other than passively observing latency how you are measuring it, does the issue happen at any specific times, and is there anything else going on in the home that could cause usage spikes (which then cause latency)?
*Not using the BT router here, but if it allows external devices to "ping" it's WAN (reasonably* safe) have you tried using a tool such as the Think Broadband BQM (Broadband Quality Monitor)?
i have 500mb/s and around 70mb upload we have tried that bqm not too long ago and its just me and 2 other people that don't really use anything that can cause significant usage. And it did happen at specific times normally just past 2pm but as of recent it started happening early morning we have also replaced the router and also had a mechanic come out and its still having issues.
im going through the same situation with hub 3 only had 500Mbps for a month another router coming tomorrow wont say new because it will likely be a reconditioned unit, thinking about getting my own non bt router ?
