Re: Property incorrectly listed as 'Silver Key' address

Update... since starting this thread this morning - we're now appearing on the Openreach Broadband Checker as 1000Mbps Available. This would suggest the Gold Key has been applied.

Now to attempt to takeover the line, which appears to be a standard process as suggested.

Thanks again, all! Seems it was just a waiting game.

Re: Property incorrectly listed as 'Silver Key' address

Thank you, will do.

If I understand it correctly - a new order will now trigger an automatic 10 day cooldown period in which the current account holder has the opportunity to tell BT that they still want the line.. and assuming they don't cancel (which I'm guessing would trigger a longer wait) I'll take the line after that.

My last question is: After that 10 day period, is the switchover instant, or will there be a period where there is no service whatsoever?

Re: Property incorrectly listed as 'Silver Key' address

I think it can take up to midnight for new services to be activated on the day, but often it's sooner with no disruption longer than a few minutes. That's how it was always said to me when I signed up for internet anyway!
