I’m currently also having this issue. My BT Smart Hub 2 has had a constant flashing purple light since around 9pm Friday evening. Have rebooted the hub two or three times and I can’t check for outages as it crashes barely 50% through the process so I can’t tell whether there’s an outage in my area or the problem is with my hub and of course it’s past midnight and customer service lines are closed, and have been since the problem occurred.

If the light is flashing or solid purple the broadband cable is unplugged or there is a service issue.
Check the cables are all plugged in correctly and if it is still purple call BT 0330.1234.150 and report a fault.
Rang them this morning and apparently there is an outage in my part of the world and has been since just after 9pm. They’ve told me that the engineers are out and hope to have it sorted by later this afternoon.
