The issue I think you are referring to was the wireless signal on occasions dropping some devices or not delivering the best speed after a firmware update. This not a general problem. It is/was affecting some users but not all.
The OP stated that his original hub had no wireless signal, not that it was dropping devices or had poor speeds, however that was not what he was complaining about in this thread. His complaint was that the new replacement hub would not connect to the Internet at all.
I think we can leave the OP to decide if the suggestions and replies given are of use. If my advice is of little/no use to the OP then so be it.
