Smarthub 3

Currently got a SH2 but looking for the WiFi 6 router for my devices. How do you go about getting BT to change the router to the modern WiFi 6  SH3?

We are now in WiFi 7 and BT still handing  the old router from years ago!!

Re: Smarthub 3

BT are not giving out SH3 to replace a perfectly working SH2.  the SH3 is being issued to new customers and possibly customers who upgrade package and need new hub

@Jasonuk1975  If you're that bothered about having a WiFi 6/7 router, just go and buy a decent 3rd party router and have done with it. You can pick up WiFi 6 routers for around 50 quid and then at least you'll also have some control over a lot of the settings. I've not used a ISP router for years.

If you do go down the route of looking on eBay, be aware, it's likely that any domestic SH3's you find there, are knock offs/grey market stuff that BT won't support if you phone up with a problem. As someone pointed out in another thread the other day when their router just didn't turn up from the delivery company, everyone knows what a router looks like in it's plainly obvious ISP box/bag. Some undoubtedly get nicked and end up for sale.

And if you do get one from a third-party source, just be aware that the "business" version of the SH3 does not support Digital Voice.
