Re: Speed cap at 40/10 but line capable of 54Mbps

Yeah the adviser explained that that’s what should have happened, but for some reason it hasn’t. They apparently can’t do it from their end even though the order has gone through properly, so they need an engineer to do it at the cabinet. She spoke to her manager and a few others about it, they were really helpful.

There is nothing an engineer can do at the cabinet. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. How can an engineer change the profile of a line at the cabinet? Its impossible. You are either connected there or not. Your profile (managing speeds) is a software change requested by BT to BTWholesale.

Let's see what happens.

Re: Speed cap at 40/10 but line capable of 54Mbps

Yeah I’m a bit concerned it won’t happen on Tuesday, the adviser told me that they used to be able to update speeds remotely but no longer could and it meant an engineer would need to come out. This was after speaking to their manager and another team. Perhaps when the Openreach engineer gets here they will be able to put the request in for the software change?

I think they’ve lifted the cap remotely after all now 🙂

Would appear so.

Your speed will probably further increase slowly as DLM reduces your snrm to 3dB in 1 dB steps if your line is stable.

Which as I said an engineer at the cabinet could not do. Why they say that-who knows they know it can't be done. As @licquorice has said you should get your speeds over the next couple of days.
