Speed on FF900

I have been on F F 900 for over a year now.   I have done a few speed tests over this time, today I completed one using a wired connection on BT own tester. There are only 3 other things at present connected the speed download speed is

Your Internet speed is 92Mbps, while my upload speed is 94Mbps.

I made some searches, the main consensus is, I should be getting far better speed than this for the £51 ..I am paying Very poor

Re: Speed on FF900

With those speeds, I suspect you only have a 10/100 Ethernet adapter on your device rather than a Gb adapter.

Re: Speed on FF900

The Ethernet card in your device.

Older cards are only 10/100Mb newer cards are Gb capable. Clearly if your Ethernet card isn't capable, you won't get the speed.

Re: Speed on FF900

Log onto your BT Smarthub using this link  BT Smarthub    and click on "Broadband Status" and scroll down to "Downstream Sync Speed" and "Upstream Sync Speed" and post the results here.  This will show the speed that is getting to your property and eliminate any devices that can not deal with the higher speeds.

Re: Speed on FF900

That will always show 1Gb as it will just show the link to the ONT.

Re: Speed on FF900

If the OP was getting less than 900Mbps ie he was on a 150mbps package, would it not show that?

Re: Speed on FF900

No, the link between ONT and Hub is always 1Gb regardless of line speed. Its just an internal connection.

This is the problem with FTTP, there is no way to see raw line speed.

As the old saying goes.. every day is a school day. I will defer to your superior knowledge and not suggest that one again.
