Speed test in My BT hadn’t worked for months

For the last year or so the speed test function in the My BT app has never worked. The dial goes up to 100% in about 5 seconds and then it says “We’re sorry, something went wrong”.  I’ve tried this on at least 50 separate days with the same results. 

I can do speed tests using other apps or websites but I need it to work in the My BT app otherwise I can’t complain about slow speeds whenever it drops.

Any suggestions?

Don't use the MyBT app us a web browser even if only to see if it works.

not sure if you read my comment - I explained that I can use other methods and why I wanted to use the MyBT app.

not sure if you understood my post - the speed tester that I posted the link to is the BT tester and as such it is accepted by BT if you are complaining about your speed.

Trouble is, browser or app based speed-tests can only go as fast as the connection between that device and the smart hub and are limited by the capabilities of the device you’re using to do the test. If you click the pop up on that link it explains that. Testing a 900mb connection that I have is difficult that way.

I tend to use the ookla command line interface on a raspberrypi that is connected to the hub with cat7 cable when I want accurate tests. 

However, the MyBT app works differently to all other available speed tests in that it makes a direct connection from BT’s servers to your hub so it can test the actual speed between the exchange and your hub, not your device.  This is what I’m wanting them to fix. It always used to work so I’m not sure why it’s stopped.

The speed test still works on the My BT app on the phone and just measures the speed to the SH2, not sure why the disabled it on the router
