Open Reach recently advised me by email that they will be installing ultra fast fibre in my road next month. I just wondered how quickly BT might respond to a request to take up the offer and how much they will charge. At the moment, they can't even give me the 74Mbps I was getting from Plusnet, all I've got is a pathetic 24Mbps. Needless to say, I'm not impressed, although they hope to fix it by tomorrow night.

Once FTTP is available you will be able to order it from BT. For a given service, price will be the same as FTTC. It is only the higher speed services that are more expensive.
You will not be charged anything to upgrade to FTTP. It will be available to you as soon as it appears on the BTWholesale checker as WBC FTTP (not to be confused with FTTP on Demand which is a business product.
