Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband

I have had notification email from Openreach saying

Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband is coming to your property by  End of June 2026.

How do I contact BT about this?

Do I have to wait until end of June to contact BT about this?

I already have Fibre Essential with Complete Wi-Fi with BT and in my account it says Contract Ends 5th March 2027

Re: Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband

Essentially, you don’t have to do anything. It’s probably a generic email sent out to all of the customers nearby. It’s not a ultimatum to change anything now email. Plus it’s from Openreach who are not BT. You can’t contact Openreach directly anyway as they are not customer facing.

Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) will be available eventually should you wish to change to it once  Openreach actually have it ready and available in your street. You can sit out your existing contract until it ends when you’ll just revert to the monthly rolling contract and then if you wish and if it is actually up and running, move to the FTTP product and not necessarily with BT should you wish to change providers.

If you have any concerns, phone BT on 0800 800 150 and talk to them about your options, but whilst you’re still on your present contract, it might not be worth bothering as yet. The point is, don’t panic, there’s nothing to worry about.

Re: Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband

A notification like that from Openreach isn’t a guarantee, there is no right to complain if the date comes and goes without FTTP becoming available it’s at best an aspiration.

If you are keen to get onto FTTP as soon as it becomes available you can keep checking this site

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

When FTTP is available it will show here , you can then contact BT regarding upgrading to FTTP , however if you think once FTTP is available you will need to act , you don’t ,  if staying as you  are is your preference, you don’t need to contact BT , thats unless you want to upgrade .

There  is no point contacting BT before the network is actually installed and ready for  service and the notification you have received isn’t more than advanced notice, calling BT too early will likely get a confusing or contradictory response.

Re: Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband

Your user name ‘rang a bell’ so I checked some of your recent posts , apparently your address is somewhat ‘rural’ and could  potentially be considered out of budget as far as OR FTTP rollout , and not show availability even when relatively near-by  properties do  (the OR notice based on the general postal area and not specific addresses ) and even if availablity shows , there is still the prospect of excess construction charges , so FTTP availability but at a cost ( ordering with an ISP doesn’t negate that , the ISP can take an order in good faith then cancel when Openreach say it’s subject to survey and costs ) …so hopefully you remain ‘realistic’ and don’t assume that notification overrides practicality and it’s some sort of golden ticket , it isn’t .

Re: Ultrafast Full Fibre Broadband

Thanks for reply.  It wasn’t a generic email from Openreach as I signed up to receive emails when full fibre would be available at my property by using the link below

When Can I Get Full Fibre Broadband?

Also I know full fibre will be available end of June 2026 as a few weeks ago there were engineers outside my property and I asked what they were doing and they said something like updating broadband and it would be available within 6 weeks.  Which coincides with the email I received from Openreach saying available end of June 2026.

My question is when full fibre is available would I be able to upgrade from my current BT package even though my current contract ends May 2027?

Yes. It is an upgrade but you will start a new Fixed Term Contract.
