Upgrade not good - need help

Our contract recently expired and I got a letter with my options - the package we were on no longer exists so opted for Halo 3 hybrid which is basically same price as what we were paying before.  Received the hybrid EE thing and a wifi disc, all connected up no issues - except our speed is awful!  The EE hybrid only gets one bar signal no matter where I put it, so hope I never have to rely on that!!  My PC has no wifi so is connected to the wifi disc with ethernet cable - and lucky to get 200 mps download.  The BT app says "speed guarantee not reached" and indicates more tests required - click that and the next screen says "test not supported" so not sure where to go from here.  The app tried twice to reset my router and failed both times. Eventually got connection back and its even worse than before.

After sitting in online chat for over an hour the other day to get another 2 wifi discs for other 2 PCs in the house - they sent one with promise of another when in stock (sigh).  I'm really not keen to go through that process again since the guy said "I've tweaked your hub and it should all be good now" and since then its been frankly terrible.  Had great success in the past with the forum moderators here so hoping someone can help me out please??

unfortunately the forum mods no longer have account access so you will need to continue with CS 03301234150

AFAIK, I don't think a telephone agent can do any "tweaking" of your hub - all he/she can do is reboot it - which you can do yourself. I don't think it is even possible to do a factory reset remotely - that requires pressing and holding in the small button on the back of the hub.
So the agent was just giving you b*llsh*t!
