Upgrade to Full Fibre 500 - Speeds not changed

Go to solution

I recently upgraded to Full Fibre 500 and my speeds havent improved from my last package, using the Speed Test in the BT APP im not anywhere near the minimum guaranteed speed of 425mbps.

I have been back and forward with BT via live chat and still no resolutiuon, they open a fault ticket and nothing changes.

Im going to try to restart the ont tonight to see if that makes any difference.

Any Ideas?.

Here is the result on the PC.

The Speed test on the app indicates a speed of 95mbps.

BT say they have identified a problem outside of the home but it has been on a fault ticket since the 15th March - I can walk away from the contract on the 15th April.

I just want the speeds I’m paying for.

I Fixed this myself by using the Cat 5 Ethernet cable that came with the router - For some reason when I Installed the router I had used a longer Ethernet Cable so I could put the router outside the cupboard on a unit. I’ve had to move the router into the cupboard to make this work but I’m getting the speed I should be.

As soon as I plugged this in, my Speed went to what it should be instantly.
