Why I can't get FullFibre

Hello,

I live in a town called Llandovery in South Wales.  Beginning of this year the full fibre had finally arrived and the town (and it's suburbs) are now connected. But unfortunately the corner of my street has somehow been 'forgotten' I suppose by the Open Reach technicians. I can't understand why. I registered my interest for Full Fibre in 2014 (it was Infinity back then). I've waited in anticipation for more than 10 years now and seeing it finally happening without possibility to be connected it's a huge disappointment.

What is even stranger is the fact that the telephone line post I am connected to, gives lines to around 10 properties. 5 of them CAN HAVE FIBRE, and the rest can not. I can not understand why!

I spoke with BT about it but they just said that it's nothing to do with them - it's Open Reach. I had a phone number to Open Reach company - they told me "it's the provider who need to make a request. We (Open Reach) then will provide the infrastructure". And that's it. Both parties sending me to each others like a yo-yo.  No one seems to be interested, wanting to help or try to find out what is going on. Well, apart from one person from the EE. This gentlemen said it would make sense to send a BT survey engineer to check the lines. He raised then a case with EE broadband. Couple days after I had a information that the case is closed. I called them and asked about the outcome. I was told that "the reason stated for the case being closed is <No Reason>". Excuse me?

As I mentioned earlier - no one seems to be interested or willing to help.

All I want is to find out why the whole town and it's suburbs can have fibre and a few properties are excluded. And I live almost like in the town centre.

What makes it even worse is the fact  that when I registered my Full Fibre interest on Open Reach website (after the whole town got connected) I got a email back saying that they "do not plan to connect my property".

I wish that someone would explain to me what is happening and why.

Regards.

John

This sort of pass the parcel between BT and Openreach is an unfortunate outcome of Ofgem insisting that BT split off Openreach as an independent company in the belief (hope?) that it would then treat other competing ISPs the same as it does the BT parent.
It just gives both of them a perfect excuse for not dealing with customer enquiries
