Why are EE offering faster speeds?

Why are EE offering a maximum speed of 1.6gbps yet BT only offering a maximum of 900mbps?

EE is to be the flagship brand, the new EE deals have the latest offerings with the latest features (Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi enhancer and more), only the EE top tier package offers 1.6gbps speeds, BT packages have not updated so the top tier is 900mbps.

If you want faster, you can switch brands to EE
