BT refusing/unable to close my account

Hi BT Community,

I am reaching out in the hope that someone can assist me with a long-standing issue I have been facing with BT. For over four months, I have been trying to close my account, but despite providing my new service provider with the STAC code, BT has refused to close my account due to various "technicalities."

Every month, I have contacted BT, only to be given a different excuse for why my account cannot be closed. These excuses have included claims of an open order on my account (which I have never placed or received) and the need to complete paperwork to close this open order. I have had email communications with the BT customer service team, saying that they have completed the paperwork and will be able to close my account in 48/72 hours but this has not been actioned in weeks!

Thus, despite multiple assurances from BT representatives that my account would be closed, I continue to receive bills.

I am extremely frustrated and seek urgent assistance to close my account and stop any further billing. This situation has caused me significant stress and inconvenience, and I am hoping someone from BT can help resolve this matter promptly.

try contacting billing on message us and if no success then follow complaints code of practice
