Change to 5g

I have my own phone on a BT contract running on 4g, I want to get a new sim free phone which will be a 5g capable handset. What do I need to do to get the new phone on my BT contract? Thanks for any help.

You’d have to take out a handset contract with EE as BT only offer sim only plans now.

If you are purchasing a handset yourself and staying with BT for a sim only plan you’ll just need to ensure you’re on a 5g ready sim plan. If you aren’t currently then you’d have to re-contract with BT to get access, or take out an EE sim plan depending on what plans and deals are available.
