Does BT Mobile have a gateway/other means to send SMS texts from computers?

Hi. I have BT Mobile (and BT Broadband). I'd like some of my computer system events to send an alert to my mobile phone via SMS. E.g. from Synology NAS Event Log (which supports that capability).

Does BT Mobile have a "gateway" that its customers can use to issue SMS texts from their computers?

Doesn't the NAS support that function itself ?

No. To do that the NAS would need to have a SIM card and a transceiver - or for the NAS manufacturer to provide a SMS gateway. They do however provide the form to set the gateway access up - i.e. specify the internet gateway, userid and password, etc.    There are, of course, SMS gateway services - some free - but I'd hoped BT might provide one for its BT Mobile customers to use!!! 🙂

What make and model of NAS do you have?

My Netgear ReadyNAS214 emails me any events, (as per @Les-Gibson ).

Do you particularly need to be informed by SMS, rather than email?

Yes. SMS is available almost anywhere, but Email less so. I already email from NAS, but would like to SMS.

Does BT have an SMS gateway available???
