HELP - Unable to move from Family Plan to Individual Plan

Need some help and advice to resolve this matter.

We contacted BT to move from a Family 4G plan with two numbers to two individual plans. A BT staff advised us to upgrade our broadband to Full Fibre 300 with Halo 3 in order to access the 2GB mobile plan. He arranged for a Wi-Fi Disc and stated that notes had been added to our account.

We called for a second time and were told that two new SIM cards were required to move to plans of 2GB (£4) and 10GB (£10). These SIM cards were delivered on the next day, when we made a third call to link the plans to our existing numbers.

During that call, another BT staff informed us that the broadband order had not progressed because an engineer visit had been arranged without our request. We were told the order would be marked as closed and asked to call back.

During our fourth call a couple of days later, we were advised that the SIM cards should never have been ordered and that the broadband order was still open, preventing any action. We were once again told to call back later.

We called the fifth time this morning, and they still said the order has not been completed and would be marked as completed and we need to call again after another 24 hours.

We have received conflicting and incorrect advice, BT has generated unnecessary orders, and we have been repeatedly asked to resolve issues that were not of our making.  From what we saw from the My BT app, the only item in the order without a "green tick" is the BT WiFi app.

I would like to kindly ask fellow members how can I make the broadband order closed in order to proceed with the mobile plan migration.  Also, do we really need two new SIM cards to do so?

Thank you.

Re: HELP - Unable to move from Family Plan to Individual Plan

@jwatsons I am so sorry to see what has happened to you here. It sounds equally as bad as when customers were being directed to EE. As you say, incorrect advice and unnecessary orders. If a mod is not able to pick this up and deal with it, I would certainly  suggest that you contact executive complaints. I am not permitted to post a link on here, but if you search for the CEO Allison Kirkby that should give you the email to use. I have had success by going down this route myself. Good luck.

Re: HELP - Unable to move from Family Plan to Individual Plan

@jwatsons  I’d be very concerned about being advised to upgrade to Halo3. It is an expensive and possibly unnecessary add on that once contracted into, is apparently from many posts on this forum, very difficult for some customers to get out of. Look carefully at what you’re being asked to sign up to and factor in the costs over the next two years and beyond.

@Brucemeister5 Thanks. I have filed a complaint via the BT Compliant page in the last couple of days but haven't heard anything from them yet. If there's no response in the next couple of days, I think I'll try to go down the executive complaints route.

Re: HELP - Unable to move from Family Plan to Individual Plan

@jwatsons I sincerely hope that you get satisfaction from your complaint. It’s been 2/3 years since I complained, and it looks as though the new on-line form may put you in contact with the same team that dealt with me. It appears that they are not able to cope with customers who are on the legacy Family SIM for BT Mobile, but the way that you have been dealt with looks to be completely out of order to me. We are on the Family SIM too, but I think we will stay where we are at the moment.
