Lost mobile phone in rural area need help

Go to solution

Hi,

Long story short, my partner has lost her mobile phone it is running through BT’s mobile network. She lives in a countryside area so 4G and other bands aren’t very good for signal. It’s almost impossible to make a phone call out there as well.

Is there anyway BT could trace the phone or see if it is still connected to a mobile mast to distinguish it’s location or if it is still connected to a mast?

Tried calling the phone and it says unavailable so im guessing there won’t be any signal to the mobile device. The mobile had full charge of battery and the weather conditions were dry outside so there is a chance the mobile could still be active with charge

Many thanks

Most phones, either Android or Apple will have a Find My Phone feature. With Android through the Google account or Apple's iCloud. That will use GPS as well so should be able to locate quite accurately.

Hi rbz5416,

Thank you for the advice. Yeah we have tried to login to her gmail account but cannot gain access to it from another device as gmail has very tight security restrictions. It would only let her login if it was the device that she has lost. Unfortunately we have no other way to gain access to the gmail as it says send a code to the email which is signed in on her phone.

Not too sure what to do, as she lives in the countryside/farmland it could be in tall grass. Just wasn’t sure if BT could do something.
