Mobile phone contract

Hi there,

I am currently with BT mobile paying for an unlimited minutes, texts and data sim and a 24 month contract on my handset, which ends in October.

Having previously been with o2, I always found their service impeccable, and have not felt the same about BT Mobile. I am interested in switching back to o2 sim only.

My question is - could I change my sim over to o2, but keep my financial contract for my handset with BT, paying it off monthly.

Many Thanks

Ryan

Re: Mobile phone contract

I can't imagine that you'll be allowed to port your number from a live account that technically has a debt on it...

If you port your number away from BT, it will terminate the mobile package including the handset charge.
BT Mobile handset plans were always 1 tariff for allowance and device, they're not seperate.

The handset will be unlocked, meaning you could add another sim card from another provider, the downside is a new number that way.

Re: Mobile phone contract

You do not have a separate credit agreement for your handset and airtime plan and even if you did the moment you end the airtime plan it’ll make the handset plan due immediately.

You need to wait for the minimum term to end, once it’s up you can port to any of the other providers.
