Have just arrived in Canada and my phone hasn’t popped up with the ‘Welcome to Bt mobile abroad….’
my wife who’s on the family plan is picking up the local mobile network but mine isn’t.
Any ideas, I don’t want to have to spend my holiday and waste money calling BT to find out why.
tried the usual, turning off and on, re-seating the sim, manually selecting a network but just constantly no signal.
it’s now been about 12 hours and nothing.
Any thoughts welcome and I need to be able to receive calls here.
Check that Roaming is enabled in your phone settings and also MyBT. Also, make sure you put an extra spend allowance of at least £5 on to the mobile through MyBT.
Are you on contract or PAYG? If PAYG, Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?
