BT Nightmare

I contacted EE about a business phone and broadband contract for my new shop and as part of the contract BT were menat to port the old number from our previous shop. BT failed to do this in the 4 weeks that our Virgin Media account was still active. Since then we have had no working phone line, no broadband and when the engineers finally turned up on the third appointment (the first two BT cancelled without informing me) they were surprised to find that the router still hadn't been delivered. This was 10 days ago and still no router despite many promises.

I am now told that we cant have our old number as has been too long since the Virgin Media account was closed (which is the fault of BT). We now need to have a new number which means re-printing all our business cards, letterheads, complement slips etc, changing our digital templates, website, social media etc all of which comes at a significant cost. Had BT told me that we wouldn't be able to keep our number I would never have signed up for this service but it has taken 8 weeks of chasing, with no communication from EE or BT to find this out.

What can I do to get this situation sorted out? Is there going to be a ny way of keeping the number? And is BT going to compensate me for the loss of hours, business and printing costs associated with this?

I'm desperate to get this sorted, it has been so damaging to my business!

Many thanks!
